TERA - Reaper PvE - Crystals

Crystals are an incredibly important part of damage output and survivability, trying to play without crystals or simply without proper crystals can be a nightmare, and your dps will certainly suffer a lot. Like most DPS classes, Reapers are focused around maximising crit damage, specifically from behind, and so our crystals are built entirely around this. High crit rate and high crit damage is the name of the game, paired with standard defensive crystals so you're more like card than paper on the battlefield.

Savage Niveot

    - Increases crit damage by 1.26 when attacking from the rear

Bitter Niveot

    - Increases crit damage by 1.44 when attacking monsters from the rear

Focused Niveot

    - Increases crit damage by 1.78 when attacking enraged monsters

Forceful Niveot

    - Increases power by 20 for 10 seconds when landing a crit from the rear

Weapon

Hardy Niveot

    - Decreases damage from monsters by 8.1%

Chest

Keen Vyrsk

    - Increases crit factor by 6

Accessories

Reapers are pretty straightforward; you want to be using the above crystals in all cases, pretty much no matter what. When you're working on constructing Dyads, the bonus stats you're after on the weapon crystals are:

- 2.2% enraged damage reduction

- 2.5% damage reduction below 50% HP

- 1359 HP

- Restores 91 HP every 5 seconds

Any Dyad is better than its Niveot counterpart, but really you want one of the above benefits to make it even better.

For your chest crystals:

- Crits recover 60 MP from the rear

- Restores 11 MP every 5 seconds

- 66 MP

Back crits restoring 60 MP is crazy strong, given how often Reapers will crit from behind, you should never have any mana problems if you have one of these crystals, definitely worth investing in if you're struggling for mana.

Pounding vs. Forceful

Some people may be wondering why a Forceful Niveot is suggested over a Pounding Niveot. This is because with a high crit distribution, our power is actually pretty low, meaning the 20 power buff is substantially stronger than 9.3% damage. If you're going with a high power distribution on your gear, you should equip a Pounding Niveot, but I warn you, that's less reliable dps.

Using a Pounding crystal can also be a good idea if you're running things solo or having a hard time always hitting from behind, as you need the Forcefulness buff up more or less 100% of the time for it to be worthwhile.

For Pounding to be better, you need enough base attack and power, with a +15 weapon it's a worthwhile consideration, but failing that, Forceful is definitely better.
